pSEO cost calculator

This pSEO cost calculator estimates the work needed for a programmatic SEO project, including templates, data preparation, page-specific writing and human review. Compare a pilot with a larger rollout before setting a budget. AI Growth Systems separates initial work from monthly allowances so you can evaluate the scope without committing to a build.

What does programmatic SEO cost?

Programmatic SEO cost comes from three places: the templates, how clean your source data is and the human time spent on each page. The calculator's example is 100 pages, 2 templates, clean data, 20 minutes of content work and 12 minutes of review per page at a $95 planning rate.

That comes to $11,070.67 to set up and $385.25 a month, including a 15% contingency.

Set your scope

01Scope the page system

A page should answer a distinct need with useful source data. Generating more URLs alone does not make a stronger SEO project.

Include the pilot pages in this total. The calculator does not generate or publish pages.

Model: 16 hours for each template, including layout, data mapping, and rendering checks.

How ready is the source data?

Data preparation allowance: 8, 24, or 48 hours. Licensing, paid data, and custom scraping are excluded.

Human editing and adding useful page-specific detail. Enter minutes; AI drafts still need review.

minutes

Separate editorial and technical checks before approval. This must be at least 1 minute.

02Choose a rate and operating allowance

The model includes 8 discovery hours, plus ongoing checks of 2 hours + 0.01 hours per page monthly. Review these assumptions before a large rollout.

Illustrative assumption, not an approved company rate. Replace it with your own rate.

USD

An editable budget allowance. No software purchase or subscription is included automatically.

USD

Added separately to setup and monthly costs for scope uncertainty.

%

Use 0 if undecided. Compare this with setup plus 12 months of ongoing costs.

The next step

Make a plan around your scope.

Size a pilot before planning more pages.

Discuss programmatic SEO
Behind the numbers
  1. Validate a pilot of 20 pages before committing the full 100-page rollout. The pilot is part of this total, not an extra charge.
  2. Check every template for distinct intent, data accuracy, internal links, and useful page-specific information.
  3. Expand only after a human review of pilot quality and search performance. Page volume does not guarantee indexing, rankings, or traffic.

Questions about this tool

Common questions

How does the pSEO cost calculator work?

Our model adds 8 discovery hours, 16 hours per template and 8–48 data-preparation hours, plus content and review minutes for each page. Monthly checks use 2 hours plus 0.01 hours per page, alongside your hosting and data allowance. These are planning assumptions you can evaluate, rather than approved project prices.

Does the calculator create pages?

No. Our calculator estimates a budget from the inputs you choose. It does not write content, generate page files, change your website or publish anything. Templates, data preparation and page production would need their own project scope if you decide to commission the work after reviewing the estimate.

Why include human review for every page?

We include review time because each page needs accurate, useful details before publication. A template that merely swaps a city or product name can repeat information without helping customers. Review should check the data, wording and purpose of the individual page, including whether it deserves to be published at all.

Should I start with a pilot?

Our model suggests testing up to 20 pages before a larger rollout. Those pages are part of the total page count, rather than an added pilot allowance in the calculation. Use the pilot to examine useful differences, data quality and review effort before deciding whether the remaining pages justify production.

Does the estimate include internal linking and schema?

We allow template time for layout, data mapping and rendering checks. Specific internal-linking and schema deliverables still need confirmation in a project scope. If those tasks matter to your rollout, list the expected behavior and checks before approving work rather than assuming the general template estimate covers every technical requirement.

Can I start with fewer pages and expand later?

Yes. We recommend a pilot of up to 20 pages for a larger rollout, counted within the overall page total. You can use its quality checks and search observations to decide whether to expand. Publication or indexing alone does not establish that every remaining planned page would give customers useful information.

Questions customers ask about pSEO cost calculator

How does the pSEO cost calculator estimate price?

We model discovery, templates, data preparation, writing and human review using your chosen planning rate. Monthly checks, operating allowances and contingency appear separately, helping you compare setup with ongoing costs. The first-year view combines those parts; it remains an estimate based on assumptions, rather than a quote for completed work.

Which inputs does the pSEO calculator need?

We ask for planned pages, unique templates, data readiness and the writing and review minutes needed for each page. You also enter a planning hourly rate, operating allowance, contingency and optional first-year budget. These inputs describe the proposed work; the calculator does not inspect your dataset to verify them.

Does the cost per page drop as I add more pages?

Spreading shared discovery, template and data work across more pages can reduce the average setup cost in our model. Writing and review still increase with page volume. Compare the total commitment as well as the average: a lower per-page figure does not show that additional pages are useful or worth publishing.

How much does data preparation add to programmatic SEO cost?

Our model assigns 8, 24 or 48 preparation hours to clean data, data needing cleanup or inconsistent sources. These allowances affect the calculated labor estimate. They do not include paid datasets, licensing or custom scraping, so those needs should be identified separately before using the model to plan an actual project budget.

Is the pSEO estimate a quote?

No. We present an illustrative planning model, using the inputs and rate you choose. A real quote needs review of the dataset, page purpose, templates, editorial requirements and implementation work. Approved rates and written terms then define the price; a calculator total does not authorize or purchase that work.

Does the calculator include ongoing page updates?

Our estimate includes a monthly allowance for data and page checks, plus operating costs. It does not promise a rewrite of every page. A real engagement should state which changes are included, how often checks occur and who supplies updated information, so the allowance can be compared with the actual workload.

What return can I expect from my pSEO spend?

Our calculator does not predict traffic, rankings or revenue. To assess potential return, compare relevant demand, the value and costs of serving customers, and evidence from a pilot. Even useful pages may not be indexed or cited by AI systems, so the calculated production budget is not a results forecast.

Is programmatic SEO worth the estimated cost for my business?

We would assess whether your structured data can support distinct, useful pages at a sustainable cost. The estimate helps compare production scopes, but cannot establish demand. If the proposed pages would repeat information or serve few customers, a smaller editorial project may be more sensible than commissioning a large rollout.
